A art piece for a friend
This piece was inspired by a friend of mine. We had a discussion about black culture being appropriated and how aspects of black culture like weaves, cornrows, and gelling baby hair have become huge trends but only praised when these styles are worn by non-black people.
She also expressed her discomfort with wearing her hair naturally and how unfair it is that no matter what she does with her hair she faces criticism because of her race. This abstract piece is to embrace her natural beauty.
